I am sharing my secrets on my favorite places to buy eco-friendly packaging and shipping supplies. When I started selling my stationery line I knew I wanted it to be environmental friendly with both the paper I used along with packaging and shipping supplies. The paper search was a bit of process of ordering tons of samples. However, the packaging was a bit easier. I was happy to see many online stores carry eco-friendly or recycled options.
The stationery needed to be wrapped in a waterproof packaging. ClearBags.com offers a selection of clear and kraft eco-friendly packaging that was perfect for my needs. The flap seal bags are perfect for notecards and the recycles boxes were great for my invitations.
All my packaging inserts for repeat customer discounts, joining my mailing list, etc., are all printed on the same recycled paper I use to print my stationery on.
For shipping I use Enclose.com. They offer a large selection of sustainable packaging, which includes boxes, poly bags, tape, stickers, and more. You can even pay to have the packaging branded with your logo. I purchase my mailers and packing tape through them. My other source is just reusing boxes that I receive some of my supplies in. If the box is still in good shape and there are no logos or branded materials on it, then I will use that box again to ship larger orders.
Lastly, I like to add a branded sticker to the outside of my boxes or mailers. Of course the stickers need to be eco friendly. I found this great label site, PureLabels.com. They offer a wide range of compostable and eco-friendly labels.
I hope this helps you on your quest for eco-friendly packaging for your business and products.
